Security Lighting

Idaho Falls Power can provide lighting for those large or hard to reach areas where security issues are a concern, such as parking lots, storage areas, driveways and yards. The service provides basic illumination, where the aesthetics of the lighting standards is not of concern.

Two basic types of light fixtures are used--high pressure sodium, cobrahead fixtures (those that you typically see on street corners) for smaller areas, and metal halide floodlights for larger areas. The luminaire can only be affixed to city-owned poles and existing poles will be used whenever possible. If a pole must be set to accommodate the light, a non-refundable installation charge of $100 will be assessed. (Charges may be higher in underground service areas).

The rate shall consist of a fixed monthly charge for each luminaire, based upon the type of fixture and wattage. The rate includes power and maintenance. We make every effort to repair these lights within 48 hours of notification. For more information please call us at 612-8443.
