Crews visuallyinspected the line, found no obstructions, and restored power after about 30 minutes. The circuit lost power after eight minutes.
Crews began to methodically test each section of the line to locate the fault. When tested and cleared, power was restored to Westside customers at approximately 12:30 pm, North-side customers at 12:50 pm and central and downtown customers at 1:20 pm.
Crews eventaually found a Mylar balloon tangled in the lines which was the probable cause of the outage, as no equipment was found to be malfunctioning.
Customers are cautioned about the problems these balloons can cause if released into the air. Outage restoration also takes longer in this section of town due to system constraints on this line.
