Carbon Footprint

Idaho Falls Power, in conjunction with a UAMPS project, is now able to quantify the carbon footprint of City of Idaho Falls facilities. With the methodology now developed and the historic database in place, IFP will now be able to benchmark its progress in future years and demonstrate the ecological value of our predominantly hydro-based system.

Idaho Falls Power (IFP) may, from time to time, have surplus electric energy to sell.

Hydro Plants

The City of Idaho Falls has operated a municipal electric generation system since 1900.

BPA Hydro

The Bonneville Power Administration markets wholesale electrical power from 31 federal hydro projects in the Columbia River Basin, one nonfederal nuclear plant and several other small nonfederal power plants.
