Zero-interest loan program
Loans for utility approved, energy efficiency appliances are available to customers with a good payment history with City of Idaho Falls utilities (i.e. no outstanding current balances, no disconnects for non-payment, no delinquencies). Customer must have minimum of one-year payment history with the City of Idaho Falls.
The property in which the appliance will be installed or used must receive its electricity from IFP.
Terms: Zero interest: up to 60 months to repay; $25 administration charge; $100 minimum loan amount; $2,000 per qualifying appliance; or a total of all loans combined of $5,000. If applicant moves outside of Idaho Falls service area, ownership changes, or non-payment occurs for three months any remaining balance will be immediately due and payable with interest to accrue on such defaulted unpaid principal balance at the rate of 12% per annum. Should the account become delinquent, it will be subject to disconnection of electric services.
The following appliances are eligible for the program. Each must have a minimum of 20 percent energy savings over standard models*:
- Electric water heaters
- Air conditioners (window units)
- Compact Fluorescent bulbs/LEDs (minimum $100)
- Washing machines
- Rechargeable electric appliances
- Electronic programmable thermostats
