Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) is a regional air transportation center serving Eastern Idaho, Southern Montana, and Western Wyoming.

The airport is served by:

  • Skywest/Delta Airlines with frequent daily flights to Salt Lake City, Utah and Minneapolis-St. Paul.
  • United Express with daily non-stop flights to Denver, Colorado.
  • Allegiant Air with weekly flights to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona and summer seasonal flights to Los Angeles and Oakland, California.

Remember to arrive at the airport early enough to check-in, get through the TSA chckpoint and get to your gate atleast 30 minutes prior to your depature time. (Since IDA is conveniently located within the Idaho Falls community and has a streamlined passenger terminal, recomended arrival time is 1-1.5 hours prior to departure time, depending upon each airlines rules and regulations). We don't want you to miss your flight!

The airlines operating within Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IFRA) have changed their rules and now close their ticket counters 45 minutes prior to departure.  Passengers are required to be through the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening checkpoint and waiting at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to the departure time.

The airlines advise that if passengers check in less than 45 minutes prior to departure time, their airline ticket/contract is automatically void. Most airline tickets are non-refundable and may not be used or put toward the purchase of another.PLEASE READ THE SMALL PRINT ON YOUR TICKET.
TSA screening checkpoint lines are unpredictable depending on the number of passengers traveling on any given day or time. Just remember to plan accordingly so you have enough time to navigate through the airport check-in process.

For passengers who check-in online, they are advised to print boarding passes or utilize the airline’s smartphone app and security code to gain access to the TSA screening checkpoint. Some airlines now charge a $5.00 fee to have a boarding pass printed out at the ticket counter during check-in. Smartphone app information is available on the respective airline’s website.

TSA Information:
Passengers should be aware that TSA is required to inspect all checked baggage. Each time TSA has to search a carry-on bag, it delays the waiting line.

The 3-1-1 rule will enhance a faster and easier checkpoint experience and includes 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart size clear plastic, zip top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. The 3 ounce container size is a security measure.

For more information on traveling or notification for baggage inspection, visit or call the TSA Consumer Response Center toll free at (866) 289-9673.

Mobile Boarding Passes:  Using a mobile smartphone, passengers can now download the appropriate airline app to check-in for their flight and go straight to the TSA security checkpoint. Special electronic readers installed at the TSA security checkpoint will allow passengers to use their smartphones in lieu of the traditional paper boarding passes.

Passengers need to remember that checked baggage must still be brought to the airport ticket counter before flight departure and that not all passengers can check in online.  Some passengers (e.g. passengers with pets or special needs) may be required to check in at the airport ticket counter.

United, Delta and Allegiant airline apps can be downloaded from the Apple I-Tunes App Store, Android Google Play, Windows Phone and Blackberry World.

Some of the airline services available from mobile apps include:

  • Flight booking — Book flights, including award travel, directly from the app on your mobile device
  • Check-in and mobile boarding pass — Store your mobile boarding pass for easy access at security and during boarding
  • Flight status — Check your upgrade status and view inflight amenities, departure gates and more
