Classes for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
Hey, you don't have to be a scout to take these classes!
Everyone is invited to learn about water safety, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving and more!
You can now regsiter for all scout classes online!
All classes will teach the required skills to earn badges or meet requirements. Please read all information regarding the class and bring the manuals and all required materials and equipment to class. Scuba and Snorkeling classes are taught by certified Scuba instructors from Inland Scuba. A participant/parent permission waiver must be signed prior to class.
Note: These classes aren’t just for scouts! Anyone can participate and learn about water sports and safety skills. Please pre-register. Classes may be combined or cancelled due to lack of registration on the day before the class begins. Walk-in registration will only be taken if classes are not cancelled or not full.

Scout Class Descriptions
Scuba Experience – covers requirements for the BSA Scuba Badge. Students must be able to swim 100yds. Classes taught by Inland Scuba certified instructors. A waiver must be signed for this class. This class does NOT result in Scuba Certification.
Snorkeling Experience – covers requirements for the BSA Snorkeling Badge. Classes taught by Inland Scuba certified instructors. A waiver must be signed for this class also.
BSA Mile Swim – covers all requirements for the BSA Mile Swim Badge. Class will only take the amount of time it takes to finish the swimming portion; class discussion will be at the beginning.
BSA Aqua-naut, plus Swimming Sport Belt Loop & Pin – Covers requirements for Bears & Webelos and the Swimming Belt Loop & Pin (which can be earned at any Cub Scout level.)
BSA 1st & 2nd Class Requirements – meets the swimming requirements for 1st & 2nd Class.
BSA Swimming Merit Badge (MB) – meets requirements for the BSA Swimming Merit Badge, participants need to bring an extra pair of zipper fly pants, with no holes (no sweats), a long-sleeved, button down shirt, shoes, socks and belt with swimming suit underneath. Prerequisites: must be 11 years old & have passed the 1st & 2nd class requirements to receive badge. Please read Merit Badge book before class.
BSA Lifesaving Merit Badge (MB) – meets requirements for BSA Lifesaving Merit Badge; clothes included in BSA Swimming Merit Badge description are required for this class. Prerequisites: must be 11 years old & have passed the 1st & 2nd class requirements to receive badge. Please read Merit Badge book before class.
BSA First Aid Merit Badge – Will meet first aid requirements for the First Aid Merit Badge. One needs to bring a pre-made personal first aid kid to class. Please read Merit Badge book before class.
Brownies Try It! Badge – Covers all the swimming skills needed to get the Try It! Badge for swimming at the Brownies Girls Scout level. Please read manual before coming to class.
Jr Girl Scout (GS) Swimming Badge – meets all the requirements for the Swimming badge at the Jr Girl Scout level. Please read manual before coming to class.
Jr Girl Scout (GS) Water Fun Badge – meets all the requirements for the Water Fun badge at the Jr Girl Scout level. Please read manual before coming to class.
