The Wes Deist Aquatic Center’s Polar Bear Swim Team is for swimmers in grades K – 6^th. This is a introductory swim team, providing swimmers with the opportunity to develop their swimming skills, sportsmanship, improve physical fitness and have fun in a low competitive environment.

All practices will be coached at the swimmer’s level,focusing mainly on freestyle and backstroke, with some emphasis on breaststroke and butterfly. Turns and starts will also be practiced.

Teams are made up of 40 swimmers (see practice times below). Swimmers will have 11 practices and 1 swim meet. Participants must be able to swim both front crawl and backstroke at least 25 yards & across the deep end with good form (most practices will be swam in the 25 yd lanes).

Practice Times:

Team 1: Monday & Thursday 5:00-6:00pm

Team 2: Tuesday & Friday 5:00-6:00pm

Program Fees:

$77.50 ($71.50 with City Rate Card)

Fees include 11 practices, awards, team T-Shirt & swim cap.

A Swim Meet will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 7:00am

February 15 - March 18, 2013

The Wes Deist Aquatic Center’s Polar Cub Swim Team is for swimmers age 3 to 7 who have little to no swimming experience and cannot meet the requirements for the Polar Bear Swim Team.

All practices will be coached in the shallow area of the pool and divided up by the swimmer’s ability. Freestyle and backstroke will be the primary focus of this program.

Teams are made up of 18 swimmers with a maximum of six swimmers per coach (see practice times below). Swimmers will have five practices, with a small swim meet on the last day.

Participants must be comfortable placing face in water and floating on back.

Practice Times:

Team 1: Monday 5:10-5:50pm

Team 2: Friday 5:10-5:50pm

Program Fees: $40 ($36 with City Rate Card)

Fees include 5 practices and awards.
