The Ice Rink is located in Tautphaus Park on Rogers next to the Zoo. The rink is open November through March. Rentals are available.

Public beginning pickup hockey 11:30am - 1:00pm Mondays
Adult skate & shoot from 1:00pm to 2:30pm on Fridays
Due to special events and tournaments, some public hours will be changed. Call the rink at 529-0941 to hear a recording of public skating times.

SKATING LESSONS: For students enrolled in skating lessons you can purchase a skate rental pas (8 rentals per pass) for $10.60 (includes tax). Each pass will outfit the students with skates for the session. To enroll in skating lessons you can register over the phone with a Mastercard or Visa at 612-8480, or you can register at the Recreation Center 520 Memorial. You can also mail in an enrollment form with payment. Enrollment forms are found in the back of the Parks & Recreation booklet. Students will have a 1/2 hour of practice time on the ice at each class. Check with the instructor to find out if the practice is before or after their class.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
SNOWFLAKES
A class especially designed for pre-school children to introduce them to skating fundamentals.
SNOW CONES
Beginning fundamentals of skating
SNOW ANGELS
Must have passed Snow cones to be in this class. Focus will be on forward stroking, forward crossovers, and one foot snowplow stops.
POLAR BEARS
Must have passed Snow Angels to be in this class. The focus will be on backward stroking and crossover t-stops.
ICICLES
Must have passed Polar Bears to be in this class. Focus will be on outside 3 turns , inside mohawks, and hockey stop.
PRE-FREEST
YLE SKILLS CLASS
Front and back crossovers, three turns, mohawks, spirals
BLIZZARDS
Must have passed Icicles to be in this class.Focus will be on inside 3 turns, forward edges, shoot the duck, lunge, bunny hop
FREESTYLE
Must have passed Blizzards to be in this class. Freestyle class is based ona compulsary program set to music. Choreography includes, jumps, spins, footwork and proper skating technique.
