The Idaho Falls Police Department is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday thru Friday excluding all major holidays. Our Patrol division and Dispatch operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Need fingerprints?

Finger prints can be obtained during business hours on a walk-in basis by contacting Idaho Falls Police Records located on the main floor of the Idaho Falls Police Department at 605 North Capital Ave. Idaho Falls Idaho. Phone 208-612-8600. There is a $6.00 charge per finger print card that must be paid prior to getting fingerprinted. The Records Department accepts cash, personal check, Mastercard and Visa.

How do I know if someone has a warrant?

You can find out if someone has a warrant by contacting the Records Department at (208)612-8600, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. We can only disclose whether there is or is not a warrant, we cannot provide you with any further information or details about the warrant.

I need a police report.

Police reports are only released in accordance with the Idaho Public Records Law Title 9 Chapter 3 sections 9-337 thru 9-350. You can review a copy of the Statute by going on line at http://www.legislature.idaho.gov/idstat/Title9/T9CH3.htm. How do I get Criminal histories?

Criminal histories can be obtained from the State of Idaho web site at:   http://www.isp.idaho.gov/identification/crime_history/index.html

 Impounded Vehicles

If your vehicle is impounded by the Idaho Falls police department, please contact the Records Department at 208-612-8600, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. In most cases you can get a release from the records clerk for a fee of $15.00. You must provide proof of ownership, such as, registration / title, before a release can be granted. Impounded vehicles are stored at private Impound facilities and storage fees may accumulate rapidly. There are numerous Towing Companies in our area, the company that towed your vehicle will be on the impound form and our Records Department will have a contact number and storage location of your vehicle.
