I.F. Man Arrested Following Stand-Off
Idaho Falls Police arrested 23-year-old Timothy Scott Murphy for aggravated assault, telephone harassment and obstructing and resisting arrest following a four hour stand-off on the 2200 block of East 12th Street.
Murphy of Idaho Falls was also arrested for a felony Idaho Department of Correction Parole Commission Warrant.
According to reports, police responded to the 300 block of Tendoy around 7:20 p.m. on Monday in reference to telephone harassment. The victim stated that Murphy had sent several threatening text messages.
The victim also told police that Murphy had threatened her with a gun on Feb. 15.
Police located Murphy at an apartment in the 2200 block of East 12th Street. Initially, police were told that Murphy was not at the apartment, but police contacted Murphy as he exited the backdoor of the apartment.
Murphy, who was in possession of a sawed off shotgun, refused to comply with police and went back into the residence.
Around 9:30 p.m. officers evacuated the neighboring apartments, including a woman and child from the apartment Murphy was in. The SWAT team was activated. Murphy finally surrendered after four hours.
No one was injured during this standoff and Murphy was taken into custody without further incident.

I.F. Man Arrested for Felony DUI
Idaho Falls Police arrested Glenn C. Porter, 46, on Friday for felony Driving Under the Influence.
Police made the arrest during a traffic stop at the U.S. Highway 20 entrance ramp on Lindsay Boulevard. Porter of Idaho Falls failed the field sobriety tests.
He has two prior DUI convictions in the last 10 years.

Two Arrested for Drugs
Idaho Falls Police arrested Zachary Threet and Kristopher Kunz Sunday night for outstanding warrants and possession of illegal drugs.
According to reports, officers contacted Threet, 19, and Kunz, 21, in the 200 block of “H” Street around 10:30 p.m. in reference to vandalism. During their investigation, police received information that Threet had two outstanding Bonneville County Warrants and Kunz had one outstanding Bonneville County Warrant.
While being place under arrest, Threet was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Kunz was in possession of morphine sulfate.
Both were booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
