Idaho Falls Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault

Michael Bemis was arrested on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

The warrant stemmed from an incident that happened on June 28, 2013 in the 1200 Block of Bear Ave.

On June 28th a man met Bemis at his residence in the 1200 block of Bear.  The man had been involved in a disagreement over a dog kennel with the female home owner Bemis was staying with.

The man knocked on the door and Bemis answered with a shotgun in his hands. Bemis then made a verbal threat and pointed the shotgun at the man as he was walking away.

A warrant was later issued and Bemis was arrested in Jefferson County.

Bemis was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on August 31st.


Idaho Falls Men Arrested for Disturbing the Peace and Battery on an Officer

Victor Madrigal, age 41, was arrested for disturbing the peace, resisting an officer and battery on an officer.

Victor Delosant Madrigal, age 40, was arrested for disturbing the peace and resisting an officer.

On August 31st at 10:49PM officer’s responded to a noise disturbance in the 200 block of 18th street.

Officers confronted a group of about ten people including the Madrigal’s outside the residence having a party.  Victor Madrigal began yelling and swearing about his neighbors calling the police.

Victor Madrigal refused to be quiet and officers told him he was under arrest for disturbing the peace.  Victor Madrigal retreated into the residence and Victor Delosant Madrigal and others blocked the door to keep officers from pursuing Victor Madrigal.

Victor Delosant Madrigal pushed an officer back to keep the officer from entering the house. Victor Delosant  Madrigal was tased by the officer.  Additional officers were called for assistance and both Madrigal’s were arrested.

Both Madrigal’s physically resisted the officers. One officer was head butted by Victor Madrigal during the arrest.

Both men were booked into the Bonneville County Jail.


Idaho Falls Man Arrested for Felony DUI

Matthew Goetsch was arrested for felony DUI.

On September 2nd 7:42 PM police responded to a vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Blaine and Elva Street in Idaho Falls.

A witness observed Goetsch driving a white pickup at a high rate of speed prior to the accident. The witness followed the pickup and observed the pickup turn onto Blaine from Elva making a wide turn. Goetsch’s turn was too wide and his pickup struck a stopped car.

Officers suspected Goetsch had been drinking and had him perform sobriety tests which he failed.

Records checks showed two previous DUI convictions for Goetsch.

Matthew Goetsch was arrested for felony DUI and booked into the Bonneville County Jail.


The Idaho Falls Police Department made 27 arrests over the weekend.
