Emergency Fire Service

The Idaho Falls Fire Department Fire Services Division serves population of approximately 100,000 residents occupying approximately 350 square miles. The area includes the City of Idaho Falls and the Bonneville County Fire Protection District

 
Emergency Response Vehicles
The Idaho Falls Fire Department currently has 45 Emergency Response Vehicles including:
  • 100 foot Ladder Truck (Quint)
  • Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles - 3
  • Ambulances - 13
  • "Brush" Trucks - urban/wildland interface - 4
  • Pumpers - 8
  • Regional hazmat response vehicle with mass-decontamination trailer
  • Rescue Trucks - 2
  • Staff Cars - 8
  • Water Tenders - 5
Emergency Response Personnel
All IFFD personnel are well trained and very versatile in their abilities to perform many different functions. All emergency response personnel are trained as Emergency. Medical Technicians and there are currently 54 personnel trained as Intensive Care Paramedics. The Idaho Falls Fire Department currently employs:
  • Chief Officer
  • Deputy Chiefs - 2 (Administration, Operations)
  • Division Chiefs - 3 (EMS, Fire Marshal, Training)
  • Battalion Chiefs - 3
  • Fire Prevention Officers - 4
  • Secretarial/Clerical Staff- 2
  • Fire Fighters - 115 (Captains, Drivers, Firefighters)
