Felonies, certain misdemeanor violent crimes and incidents which require follow up investigation are forwarded to the Detectives Division.
Crimes Against Persons
Detectives specializing in crimes against persons investigate crimes ranging from minor assaults to child abuse and neglect, crimes against vulnerable adults, sexual assaults, robberies and homicides.
Property Crimes
Detectives
specializing in property crimes investigate a wide variety of property
cases from theft, burglary and property damage to complex financial and
white-collar crime cases. Detectives also monitor pawnshop activities
within Idaho Falls and assist the Fire Department with arson
investigations when requested.
Specialty Investigations
The department's computer forensic analysis, polygraph, and crime scene
investigation program are all within the Detectives Division.
Evidence & Property Control
A full-time Evidence Officer and part-time technician maintain, collect and processes items inside the Property Room.
