Idaho Falls Power operates five hydropower plants on the Snake River and has been generating electricity for the citizens of Idaho Falls since 1900. We are proud of our facilities and are happy to show them to you and explain how we operate. Guided tours of the City Plant downtown or, if scheduling allows, the Gem State Plant south of town make ideal field trips for schools, Scouts, clubs or individuals. Please keep in mind that the facilities are working environments with safety hazards including open hatches, moving vehicles and access to the Snake River. We prefer to limit tour size to 30 people, 10 years old and up.
Walk-ins: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
