The City of Idaho Falls strives to make their program inclusive and accessible for all individuals. If your child requires individual accommodations due to any condition, impairment or as a result of any injury, please contact us and let us know how we can properly make accommodations.
Due to changes in the program we are asking everyone to be registered no later than NOON the day before the class starts.
Sessions are offered once a week for four weeks with the option to sign up for all 3 classes. Online registration is available, as is in-person registration, offered at the Ice Arena or Rec Center.
Dress warm and layer up as necessary, wearing comfortable clothes that you can move in is highly recommended along with pants that are close fitting but not tight. Sweatpants or warm-up pants Ideal.
Gloves or mittens are a necessity! Your feet will feel best in one pair of lightweight socks or tights. Don't forget a hat to keep your ears and head warm.
Rental skates are available at the ice rink if you do not own skates. Skates should be stiff enough to provide support to feet and ankles, but flexible enough to be comfortable. The boot should be snug, with not too much extra room.
Protective head gear is recommended for all children under the age of 6 and all beginner skaters. A hockey, skateboard or ski helmet (multi-sport) will be suitable for use during beginning ice skating lessons.
Helmets are now available for rent at the Ice Arena for $1.00
