Proper Attire

Dress for warmth by layering your clothing. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Close-fitting but not tight pants, like sweatpants or warm-up pants, are ideal. Gloves or mittens are a necessity! Your feet will feel best in one pair of lightweight socks or tights. Don't forget a hat to keep your ears and head warm.

Skates

Rental skates are available at the ice rink if you do not own skates. Skates should be stiff enough to provide support to feet and ankles, but flexible enough to be comfortable. The boot should be snug, with not too much extra room.

Safety Helmets

Protective head gear is recommended for all children under the age of 6 and all beginner skaters. A hockey, skateboard or ski helmet (multi-sport) will be suitable for use during beginning ice skating lessons.
