Snowshoeing

Try something new and exciting and get out of the house this winter. This class introduces participants to the sport of snowshoeing. Participants will experience a 1.2 mile winter wonderland guided hike in Kelly Canyon to Y Junction where they can explore more trails independently, some more challenging than others. After sometime, participants will return back to the resort as a group.

Requirements

Snow shoes and Poles are provided. A headlamp or flashlight is required and not supplied for the evening class. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.
Snowshoeing Family

Participant Age

They need to be able to snowshoe 1.2 miles one way. The ideal age-appropriate age for this trip is minimum 12 years of age. There is a constant gradual incline the entire 1.2 miles that we will snowshoe. The best gauge as a parent is to know your child. If they have walked or hiked before and are quick to complain or wear out then this is likely not for them.

If your child is determined, outgoing, and has completed multiple 2 mile hikes or walks in the past then it's likely they are ready for this challenge. We want you to enjoy this new experience, so if you need to stop for a moment to rest, please feel free to do so.
