The Idaho Falls Zoo’s 2019 season is off to a great start with April seeing the highest attendance ever recorded at the zoo! We are rockin' and rollin’ into May with some great events for everyone in the family.

May 11: International Migratory Bird Day

Learn about migratory birds and their habitats at several family-focused “migration stations” located throughout the zoo. The event runs from 12-3 p.m. and is free with your paid zoo admission or TPZS membership. Learn more about International Migratory Bird Day at www.birdday.org.

May 11-12: Mother’s Weekend

In honor of all the amazing women in our lives and in our zoo family, we invite all the ladies to enjoy FREE admission to the zoo with a paid child admission on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12. Bring mom to see our newest mom, our plains zebra Autumn with her adorable little daughter, Ayana.

May 18: Armed Forces Day

In appreciation of the service provided by members of the armed forces, we are proud to provide free admission to the zoo for all former or active military personnel, along with free admission for one of their guests. Also, the KIDZ Co. show choir will perform at 3:30 p.m. on the zoo green in honor of those who’ve served their country.

May 21 and 22: Fluor Idaho’s STEAM Day at the Zoo

We’ll host nearly 2,000 area second graders on Tuesday, May 21 and Wednesday, May 22 during two days of activities and learning focused around science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The schools have already been pre-booked for this event and the event is now full. To get on the waiting list for next year’s event, call (208) 612-8254.

May 25: Summer Hours Begin

The zoo will move to their summer hours May 25 – Sept. 2. Gates will open at 9 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Plan to arrive well before closing time as the zoo is cleared each night starting at 5:45 p.m.

Admission to the Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park is $7.50 for adults (ages 13-61), $6 for seniors (62+), $4.50 for children (ages 4-12). Children 3 and under are free.
