Idaho Falls, ID – Beginning on Monday, July 8, HK Contractors will close 1st Street from St. Clair Road to Chatham Drive. The road closure is necessary to complete the water line construction project as safely and quickly as possible. Barring unforeseen conditions, all local residents and businesses will have access during construction.
Variable message boards are currently in place on both the east and west sides of the construction area to alert travelers of the upcoming road closure. Detours will be in place and the traveling public should plan alternate routes. A temporary water supply will be in place to avoid a disruption in water service.
The anticipated completion time is the first of September.
The 1st Street water line replacement project extends from Lomax Street to the Idaho Canal and calls for water line replacement, storm drain improvements and road reconstruction. Idaho Falls Power will replace aging street lights. Davey Tree Service will also trim trees away from power lines.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the community’s patience as we update the city's aging infrastructure.
