On Saturday, September 21 the zoo has several fun activities for everyone that you’ll want to be sure to enjoy!
We Appreciate YOU! Saturday, Sept. 21 is the zoo’s Community Appreciation Day which means everyone 4 and over gets in to the zoo for only $1.00 AND a can of food per person. 3 and under, as usual, is free. This event is made possible by the generous support of Life Care Center. All food collected during Community Appreciation Day will be donated to the Idaho Falls Community Food Basket.
See Kamaria and Illanga before They Move On: Our two not-so-little youngest lion sisters, Kamaria and Illanga, will be moving to Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle on Oct. 1 as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Lion Species Survival Plan. Come give them your fondest farewell wishes!
Visit Camas National Wildlife Refuge with the Zoo: On Saturday, Sept. 21 join the zoo as we head north to explore Camas National Wildlife Refuge during their Birds, Bugles, and Brunch event. Thanks to the generosity of Friends of Camas NWR, we'll have a FREE bus to the refuge at the zoo available to take the first 70 people who register for a morning of fun family-friendly activities including hay rides, bird watching, and FREE breakfast. Visit http://www.idahofallsidaho.gov/1416/Family-Nature-Program to learn more and register as space is limited. If the bus fills, you’re still more than welcome to drive up to Camas on your own and join in this free event which runs 8:00 a.m.-noon. Contact [email protected] if you have questions.
Idaho Falls Zoo staff and volunteers thank you for all your support of the best little zoo in the west! Zoo hours are daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m. now through Oct. 6, 2019. For more information, visit the Idaho Falls Zoo online at www.idahofallszoo.org or like us on Facebook and Instagram.
