[ARCHIVED] City of Idaho Falls Unveils Multilingual “Idaho Falls Experience” Mobile App

IdahoFallsEexperience-WelcometoIdahoFalls

(Idaho Falls, ID)  The City of Idaho Falls has unveiled an innovative and unique multilingual mobile app designed to give visitors a snapshot of Idaho Falls activities and amenities.

The “Idaho Falls Experience” was created using the Liiingo app, an easy to use publishing platform that makes multimedia content instantly available to visitors and residents in multiple languages.  The user-friendly app currently is available with information in English, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish, some of the most common languages spoken by visitors to eastern Idaho.

“When it comes to Idaho Falls, to know us is to love us and the Liiingo app allows visitors to get to know us better. I predict we will find new ways to build and strengthen cultural ties,” said Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper.  “The Japanese translations will enhance our Sister Cities relationship with the people of Tokai-mura Japan. The Chinese translations will aid the many Chinese tourists who want to explore more, but who have been limited by language barriers. And the English and Spanish interpretation tools will provide easy access to places in Idaho Falls that might otherwise go undiscovered as people get off the beaten path and explore. Liiingo is wonderful”

The “Idaho Falls Experience” Liiingo app provides content that will welcome visitors to Idaho Falls and assist in informing them of places to visit, activities to engage in, restaurant and lodging options to enjoy, and other interesting information about Idaho Falls in their own language.  Mobile Visitor App

“The City designed the ‘Idaho Falls Experience’ to bolster economic and tourist activity in our community,” said Dana Briggs, Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Idaho Falls.  “We wanted to provide a multilingual tool that builds on the goal of providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for people of other cultures visiting Idaho Falls.”

QR Codes or iiicodes will be placed in locations throughout Idaho Falls where visitors and residents have access to them. Materials such as window signs, brochures, rack cards, and other materials have been prepared to assist in the outreach effort and will be distributed to businesses and other attractions throughout the city.

“The City of Idaho Falls is a leader in how communities leverage new technologies to provide a more memorable experience for visitors,” states Liiingo Corporation. “Liiingo is about making the most of the moment, and we are excited to partner with Idaho Falls to promote and enhance this incredible community.”

To access the “Idaho Falls Experience,” the Liiingo app can be downloaded from the app store on a smartphone or by scanning one of the “Idaho Falls Experience” QR codes located on promotional materials around Idaho Falls. Download and use of the app is free.
