The Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) announced Tuesday the addition of a new route on Allegiant.
Beginning May 18, 2022, Allegiant will fly non-stop from IDA to Orange County California’s John Wayne Airport (SNA). The new flights will mark a total of six routes for Allegiant from Idaho Falls, including Las Vegas, Oakland/San Francisco, Phoenix, Portland and San Diego.
“Idaho Falls is very excited to add this new flight in our continued partnership with Allegiant,” said Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper. “Having Allegiant show such interest in our city and region reflects upon all the good we have to offer. We are truly proud of facilitating this service to Idaho Falls and the strides made at our airport.”
The new year-round IDA to SNA flights will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Travelers heading to the greater Los Angeles area can find traveling through SNA easier than Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The airport also provides closer service to California’s world-renowned theme parks and Orange County beaches.
Exact schedules and fares can be found online. With the launch of the new route, Allegiant is celebrating with one-way $49 introductory fares. Travelers are now able to book tickets on www.allegaint.com.
With the addition of the route between Idaho Falls and Orange County, IDA will offer 14 non-stop destinations with an average of 16 daily flights. Travelers from IDA can connect to hundreds of destinations around the world with just a single stop.
“We are thrilled to have Allegiant expand its offerings, connecting people in eastern Idaho and the greater Los Angeles area,” said Idaho Falls Regional Airport Director Rick Cloutier. “IDA works hard to continue to grow and expand air service for our community. Adding new routes helps our fares stay competitive and grows the area’s economic opportunities.”
IDA is nearly finished with a $12 million 38,000-square-foot expansion project that has allowed IDA to bring more flights to the airport. The expansion project funded entirely by the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aviation Improvement Program has already added two new terminal gates, an improved Transportation Security Administration screening area and expanded restaurant space
