[ARCHIVED] Come to Senior Day, Zoo Brew and Paint a Peacock at the Idaho Falls Zoo

IDAHO FALLS -- The Idaho Falls Zoo is full of fun this coming August, with several events, including the annual Tautphaus Park Zoological Society’s Members-Only picnic. 

August 1: Senior Day: Visitors 62 years old and older get in for only 50 cents from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., seniors 62 and over can enjoy a free lunch courtesy of event sponsor Lincoln Court and live music by the Old Time Fiddlers.

If you need mobility support, please consider bringing your own walker or wheelchair as the zoo has very limited wheelchairs available at the zoo on a first-come, first-serve rental for $5 each. 

August 5: Sippin’ Safari- Join us for our fan-favorite fundraiser, the Sippin’ Safari concert series, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy an evening strolling the zoo and listening to live music with your family. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase adult and non-alcoholic drinks, so bring your ID! All ages are welcome. Purchase tickets before the event at https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/tpzs-2022-events-50999. As a fundraiser, zoo memberships aren’t valid for entry.

August 12: Zoo Brew: Adults 21+ can enjoy an evening at the zoo when the animals are active and the beer is cold, thanks to the North American Brewers Association and Tautphaus Park Zoological Society. On Friday, August 12 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. sample beer around the zoo from local and national breweries. Tickets are $30 in advance online and $35 at the door. Tickets will likely sell out, so don’t delay! Get yours at https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/tpzs-2022-events-50999.Attendees MUST be 21 years old and older and show identification for entrance. All proceeds will go to the Tautphaus Park Zoological Society to support a new gift shop and entrance for your “best little zoo in the west.”

August 24: Watercolor in the Wild: Local artist Twyla Mahelona with Mahelona Studio will guide a small group of participants through creating beautiful watercolor pieces featuring the animals at your zoo. In August, we will be painting a Peacock! All materials are included. Tickets include admission to the zoo, so come early or hang around after to enjoy the wildlife! August 29: Zoo Members-Only Annual Picnic: Thanks for supporting your zoo by buying an annual membership! Tautphaus Park Zoological Society’s annual Zoo Members-Only hot dog cookout will be on Monday, August 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy the zoo after-hours with free hotdogs, chips, and drinks. Boo at the Zoo Seeking Trick-or-Treat Vendors: One of the largest and best events in Idaho Falls is Boo at the Zoo! Boo at the Zoo will be held on October 20, 21, and 22 and there are still a few spots left for vendor booths. Space is limited and booths sell out fast!
