Idaho Falls Power (IFP) will begin the third and final phase of the Melbourne Addition project to upgrade electrical equipment beginning the first week in June. The work is expected to last eight to ten weeks, barring unforeseen conditions
This phase of the project includes replacing utility poles and conductors to improve utility infrastructure. Most of the equipment in place today dates back to the 1950s and 1960s and has begun to deteriorate.
Residents affected by this project include those in the area of John Adams Parkway and Bodily Street, between Tyra Avenue and Meppen Drive, and Meadow Street, between Meppen Drive and Logan Drive.
During the project, IFP personnel will alert residents of any disruptions in service and the need to access property by leaving door hangers and knocking on doors to relay the information. IFP personnel will be in marked vehicles and wearing hardhats and clothing with the IFP logo on them.
Disruption in service will likely only be two hours or less.
IFP expresses appreciation to residents for their patience as they complete the necessary upgrades.
