The traffic control at the intersection of Elva Street & Holmes Avenue has changed to a stopped condition at Elva Street on the east and west approaches of the intersection, effective immediately.
The traffic signal will be removed. During construction, traffic will be allowed through on Holmes Avenue. This traffic control operation will remain in this condition until the new signal is installed, anticipated in mid-August.
The Elva & Holmes project includes replacement of the waterline, concrete replacement work on the intersection corners and reconstruction of the intersection roadway. Traffic control will also include some lane closures and intermittent detours for overhead work and waterline crossings.
Barring unforeseen conditions, the project will be completed in mid-August.
Please watch for equipment and workers, follow all traffic signs and flaggers, and reduce speeds to posted limits.
