The Idaho Falls Police Department arrested a 20-year-old Idaho Falls man for two Bonneville County warrants following a multiple vehicle crash Wednesday morning.
Nicholas Dursteler was booked into the Bonneville County Jail. The warrants are unrelated to the crash.
According to preliminary reports, Dursteler, who was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix east on Ninth Street, crashed into a white Nissan Maxima parked near St. Clair Road just after 7 a.m. Both vehicles then crashed into a third vehicle, a Ford F150.
The Grand Prix then crashed into multiple trees and fences. Ninth Street was temporarily closed between Terry Drive and St. Clair Road to traffic for a couple of hours as officers investigated the crash and cleaned up the debris from the wreckage spewed all over the street.
Dursteler’s passenger, a 21-year-old Blackfoot woman, was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to be treated.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
