War Bonnet Kick-Off_Downtown ArenaHold on to your hats, Idaho Falls! The Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce two great War Bonnet Round Up pre-rodeo events leading up to the main events, August 3rd, 4th and 5th.   

On Thursday, July 27, from 5-7 p.m., join us for a joint Business After Hours with the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce and the War Bonnet Round Up! 

Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be provided. Mini bull riding with stock from Flying S Mini Bucking Bulls and an Equine Drill performed by the War Bonnet Jr. Posse will entertain guests. This event will be held at Sandy Downs, 6855 South 15th East, Idaho Falls.

Then, on Wednesday, August 2, from 5-8 p.m., the department will bring back the very popular Downtown Rodeo Kick-Off party on Park Avenue/Civitan Plaza.  This event celebrates the official start of the War Bonnet Round Up with a fun evening for the whole family!

The kick-off party events are free including horse-drawn trolley rides, face painting, photo booth, carnival games, bounce houses, mechanical bull riding, live music by County Line, and an old west-style shoot out performance by Mountain River Ranch at 6:15 p.m. War Bonnet Kick-Off_Mountain River Ranch

Two performances at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. will be held at the downtown arena that will feature mini bull riding, wild pony racing, specialty acts Loop Rawlins and AJ Silver, rodeo clown Cody Sosebee, and will end with two exciting freestyle bullfights.
