An American mountain lion was spotted in Idaho Falls this morning at approximately 4:30 a.m. near the Idaho Falls Regional Airport.  Residents are advised to use caution. Dispatch issued a code red call to residents on the west side of Idaho Falls at approximately 6:30 a.m. this morning. 

There have been no reports of the lion coming in contact with other animals or humans. 

If residents see the mountain lion they should remain at a safe distance and should not approach it. They are instructed to call dispatch at (208) 529-1200 or Idaho Department of Fish & Game, Upper Snake Regional Office at (208) 525-7290.
