On Nov. 18, 2017 at 7:45 a.m., the Idaho Falls Fire Department and Idaho Falls Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Skyline Drive and Broadway in Idaho Falls for a report of a vehicle accident involving a school bus and a pick-up truck.

Witnesses stated the school bus ran a red light, striking the truck. As a result, the truck caught on fire. It is reported that five citizens extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived on scene.

There were children on the school bus, but there were no injuries reported. 

The adult male driver of the pick-up truck was extracted from the truck and transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

The accident is under investigation.
