[ARCHIVED] Brush Fire Contained Quickly

Idaho Falls, ID:  On February 5, 2018 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Idaho Falls Fire Department was dispatched to 5664 W. 33rd S. for a report of an outside fire on the west side of I-15.

Upon arrival, crews found a brush fire that did not involve any structures. Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly and keep it from reaching a nearby newly constructed home. 

Approximately 2.5 to 3 acres burned. No civilians or firefighters were injured.  

The Idaho Falls Fire Department reminds citizens to call dispatch at (208) 529-1200 to notify them of when and where they plan on burning fields.  Burn permits should be obtained through the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.
