Idaho Falls, ID: On April 3, 2018 at 5:09 p.m., the Idaho Falls Fire Department was dispatched to 2345 Morningstar Lane for a report of a structure fire.
There were no occupants inside the home at the time of the fire. A neighbor noticed smoke coming from the garage and called 9-1-1.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a single story home with heavy smoke coming from the garage. Crews were able to access the garage quickly and began extinguishing the fire. While the fire did extend to the garage walls, firefighters were able to prevent the fire from extending into the home. Crews remained on scene after the fire was extinguished to continue checking for hot spots.
The fire appears to have started from an overloaded electrical circuit.
Four engines, three ambulances and a battalion chief responded. No civilians or firefighters were injured.
The estimated damage is approximately $10,000.
