Idaho Falls Zoo Logo

August is full of special events at the Idaho Falls Zoo that offer fun for the whole family! Here’s a look:

Enrichment Day: Saturday, August 4 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Explore how we enhance the lives of the animals at the zoo and encourage their natural behaviors often using everyday objects or new activities. You may think a bag stuffed with shredded paper, a child's toy, or even old phone book in an animal's exhibit looks like someone littered, but during this event you'll find out how what some may consider trash can be treasure to many zoo animals. The event is included with your regular zoo admission.

Bear Aware Day: Saturday, August 11 from 12:00-3:00 p.m.Join Black Bear Diner, Idaho Fish and Game, and the US Forest Service as we learn all about the amazing world of bears. Watch a special feeding of the sloth bears and participate in games and crafts your kids will love. Everyone 12 and under who brings their teddy bear to the event is admitted free. The event is included with your regular zoo admission.

Community Appreciation Day: Saturday, August 25 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.To show our thanks for the community’s support, Life Care Center and the zoo offer admission for only $1 per person PLUS a can of food for the Idaho Falls Community Food Basket.

Bat Night at the Zoo: Saturday, August 29 from 8:30-10:00 p.m.Calling all bat fans! As part of our local conservation efforts, we’re hosting our first-ever bat night in conjunction with Veolia Nuclear Solutions and BYU-Idaho. We’ll hear presentations from bat experts, look for bats in the zoo and the park, and have educational bat demonstrations. Check the zoo website and Facebook events for more details, locations, etc. to come.

Zoo hours are daily 9 a.m.-6 p.m. now through Labor Day.
