Idaho Falls, ID – A HAWK (High-intensity Activated crossWalK beacon) is being installed at 15th Street and S Boulevard today – just in time for back to school!
A HAWK, similar to what was installed on Riverside Drive and Skyline Drive, will dramatically increase safety for pedestrians crossing S Boulevard in front of Hawthorne Elementary School.
To facilitate and expedite the installation of the HAWK, 15th Street at S Boulevard will be closed today. During construction motorists will be diverted with detour signs to bypass the construction zone.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the community’s continued patience as we continue to improve our roadways and making them safer for both motorists and pedestrians.
