Idaho Falls, ID – The City of Idaho Falls Public Works Department is hosting a community conversation to seek feedback from residents regarding proposed improvements at the intersection of S Woodruff Avenue and E 17th Street.

The meeting will be held at Theresa Bunker Elementary on Thursday, November 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the school library.  The public is encouraged to attend and provide their input on the improvements which are anticipated to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.

Among the improvements expected to be included are an additional left-turn lane and a dedicated right-turn lane on each intersection approach, which is similar to the intersection of E 17th & S 25th East (Hitt Road) project that was recently constructed. The project is currently in the development and design phase and is scheduled to be constructed in 2022.

“We’ve seen real benefits from similar improvements at other locations, so we are excited to be going out to the community discussing the possibility of making upgrades to this major intersection,” said City of Idaho Falls Public Works Director Chris Fredericksen.  “This project will improve both vehicular progression, and safety for all users, so it is definitely important.”

Residents who cannot attend the November 15 meeting are encouraged to provide their input and learn more about the project online on the Idaho Falls Public Works homepage located at

Comments can also be received via e-mail at [email protected].  Public input will be taken online, via e-mail or at the Idaho Falls Public Works office, 380 Constitution Way until November 30, 2018.
