Aquatics Mermaid Experience

  1. Mermaid Experience

    February 17, 2020, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Aquatic Center

    This two-hour experience will give any human, young or old, the opportunity to become a mermaid or merman. During the experience, a trained mermaid instructor will teach students how to put the tail on and take it off safely, along with basic movements in the water and fun mermaid games.

Aquatics Scout Classes

  1. BSA Lifesaving Merit Badge

    February 17, 2020, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

    Meets requirements for BSA Lifesaving Merit Badge with the exception of CPR. Participants must bring clothes that will get wet during this class (shirt & pants). The 400 yard swim must be swam continuously, without breaks, assistance, or touching the walls or the floor of the pool. It also must be completed in a strong manner. Be prepared to swim most of the class. Participants must be 11 years old, be able to satisfactorily complete all skills, and take the CPR for Scouts class in order to pass off merit badge.

  2. Cub Scout Elective Class

    February 17, 2020, 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM

    Covers the requirements for the Aquanaut pin for Webelos, the Bear Salmon Run elective adventure, and the Wolf Spirit of the Water Elective adventure. Many of the requirements for each award are done in the deep end of the pool, and so adequate swimming ability is required.

  3. Swimming Merit Badge

    February 17, 2020, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

    Meets requirements for the BSA Swimming Merit Badge. Scout must be able to hold breath underwater for a minimum of 10 seconds & submerge 8-10 feet without assistance. The 150 yard swim must be swam continuously, without breaks, assistance, or touching the walls or floors of the pool. Must be prepared to swim all 5 strokes in a strong manner. Participants must be 11 years old and be able to satisfactorily complete all skills in order to earn merit badge.
