Robert Wright has served as the Director of the Idaho Falls Public Library since July 2004. During his tenure the Library has grown from a single branch in Idaho Falls to also include branch libraries in Iona and Swan Valley. The Library has grown from circulating just over 600,000 items per year to circulating over 1.6 million items in 2018. The Library has undergone several renovations during his tenure including a retrofit lighting program, elevator remodel, addition of a computer room, replacement of the atrium skylight, and addition of an ADA entrance and additional meeting room space.
Prior to working at the Idaho Falls Public Library, Mr. Wright worked for ten years as the Director of the Blackfoot Public Library and for three years as a Librarian at the Northern Marianas College in Saipan. Mr. Wright has degrees in Physics (Ricks College), Asian Studies (BYU) and a Masters of Library and Information Science (BYU).
